They also didn't serve any bread/rolls with the Hash Browns Breakfast “Pizza" or Vegetarian Chili & Eggs brunch entrees that we'd ordered. I took off one star though, because it took a LONG time to get out entrees. When I asked our waitress whether they could substitute crisp bacon for the chorizo in their Hash Browns Breakfast “Pizza," she checked with the chef & they accomodated me.

We split an appetizer of Swordfish Pastrami, which was good, although a bit spicy. This restaurant did offer some unusual brunch choices. As it was a partially enclosed patio with some overhead fans, it wasn't that bad. we were visiting & who had made our reservation, wanted to sit outside on the patio. Although it was a hot day, our family, whom. We walked through an alleyway to get to this restaurant in Harvard Square. I was a bit apprehensive about coming here due to the recent bad reviews, especially regarding the service. I'll order my own dessert the next time that I eat at Harvest! More This dessert was heavenly and arguably the best that we have ever eaten. It consisted of crème fraîche ice cream over apple mousse sandwiched between a top and a bottom layer of caramelised phyllo dough and caramel pastry cream. We have a custom of sampling each others entrees during a meal and ordering a single dessert to share. Both of our meals were filling and delicious. The Salmon was served with roasted asparagus, tomato couscous and white bean hummus. The Turkey Club was served on sweetened bread with lettuce, bacon avocado and basil. I had Roast Turkey Club and my wife had Seared Atlantic Salmon. I had a Blackberry Thyme Lemonade and my partner had a Pigeon Cove Kombucha. After being seated, we ordered non-alcoholic cocktails. The staff at Harvest provided us with friendly, welcoming, and efficient service throughout our visit. My wife and I stopped there recently for lunch. Harvest is a gem hidden in an alleyway off Brattle Street in Harvard Square. The staff here all needs better training in human relations and restaurant management overall, as their actions were truly ghastly.

On the way out a staff member said “hope you enjoyed your dinner and a show” rather than ensuring we were ok. Not once did the manager or any staff member check to see if we were ok despite the smoke inhalation, nor did they offer a gift card or anything despite our harrowing experience. The clueless hostess then came and suggested re-seating us even though we were finished at this point. Just then the smoke detector finally went off and the restaurant staff eventually noticed there was an issue. My boyfriend jumped up and ran over to the fireplace and with the help of two other patrons took the wreath off the fireplace just prior to the entire wreath being engulfed in flames. Then, all of a sudden we noticed that there was a fair amount of smoke in the restaurant and the giant 3 ft wide wreath over the fireplace was catching fire as the fire inside the fireplace expanded beyond the scope of the fireplace and its glass screen. the entire dessert needs to be revamped or taken off of the menu. The cheesecake itself was not smooth and creamy as it should be, but the worst part of all were these hard seed-like things that honestly could have broken a tooth. The food was good overall, however the cheesecake - was atrocious.
